Golden State Senior Placement is a free senior placement service for California families, with a real person beside you at every step. We help families find licensed board and care homes, memory care and room and board, and we stay with them from the first call to move-in day.

Why we started
Most families start looking for a care home in a hurry: after a fall, a hospital stay, or a doctor saying it's no longer safe at home. We've seen how hard that week is, and how easy it is to be rushed into the wrong place by a stranger on the phone, or buried in calls after typing your number into a website.
So we built the service we'd want for our own parents. We look for what makes a home good: the caregiver who remembers how your dad takes his coffee, the kitchen that smells like dinner, the hallway that's calm at night. Honest about costs. Patient with hard decisions. Careful with your family's story.
How we choose homes
- Every care home's license is checked on the state's facility search before it joins.
- Every room and board home is visited in person and signs a pledge to provide no care.
- Families rate each home after their visit, and we watch those ratings.
How we're paid
Families never pay us. When someone we've helped moves in, the home pays us a referral fee, and every home pays the same rate.
Some community partners who refer families, such as real estate agents, receive part of that fee as a thank-you, and they tell you so. We never pay doctors, nurses, hospitals or other healthcare providers for referrals. Read our privacy notice to see exactly who sees your information and when.
