Terms of Use
These terms cover using our website, our phone and email service, and our portals. Care homes and referral partners also sign their own agreements with us.
Version 2026-11 · Draft pending attorney review before launch.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Golden State Senior Placement [, LLC] ("we", "us"). By using our website, calling us, sending a request, or using a portal, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our service. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information and is part of these terms.
2. What we do, and don’t do
2.1A free referral service. We help people find senior housing and care homes across California: licensed board and care homes (Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly), memory care and room and board homes. We learn what’s needed, suggest homes that may fit, arrange visits and help through move-in.
2.2Free for families. Families and residents never pay us. Homes pay us a referral fee when someone we referred moves in. Every home on our service has agreed to the same fee terms, and we tell every family how we are paid.
2.3We are not a care provider. We don’t provide care, medical advice, legal advice or financial advice. We don’t own, run, manage or inspect homes on the state’s behalf. Each home is an independent business responsible for its own care, staff, prices, admission decisions and contracts.
2.4Licensed homes for anyone who needs care. As California law requires, we refer anyone who needs help with daily care, medications or supervision only to homes licensed by the California Department of Social Services. Room and board homes offer a room and meals only; we refer to them only people who need no care.
2.5Emergencies. Our service is not for emergencies. If someone is in danger or needs urgent medical help, call 911.
3. Your choice is yours
We share what we know about each home, but you decide where your loved one lives. Before choosing, please visit, ask questions, read the admission agreement, and check the home’s license and inspection history on the state’s Community Care Licensing facility search (www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/carefacilitysearch). We can’t promise that a home will have space, accept your loved one, keep its prices, or meet every expectation.
4. Accurate information
Please give us accurate, complete information about care needs, and tell us if anything changes. Homes rely on it to decide whether they can safely care for your loved one, and state law limits who room and board homes may accept. If you send a request for someone else, you confirm that you have their permission or the legal authority to act for them.
5. Permission to share
When you send a request, you allow us to contact you about it. We share details with homes only as described on the request form, in the written authorization you sign, and in our Privacy Notice. You can withdraw your permission at any time by calling or emailing us.
6. Calls and texts
By giving us your phone number, you agree that we may call or text you about your request, your call-back, or your account. We don’t send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts.
7. Tracking your request
Our request tracker shows only the stage of a search, never names or care details. Keep your reference number private. After several wrong tries, a reference number is locked for an hour.
8. Care home and partner accounts
8.1Your signed agreement comes first. Care homes and referral partners also sign a written agreement with us. If anything in these terms conflicts with that agreement, the agreement wins.
8.2Keep your account safe. Accounts are for the people named on them. Use two-step sign-in, keep your password and authenticator private, and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
8.3Client information. Information about families and residents is confidential. Use it only to decide whether you can serve the person and, if chosen, to provide care. Never copy it outside the portal except as your agreement allows.
8.4Partner rewards and taxes. Community partners’ referral rewards are set by the partner agreement and shown in the partner portal. Rewards are taxable income. Partners sign IRS Form W-9 before we pay any reward, and we report rewards to the IRS when the law requires. We never pay doctors, nurses, social workers, hospitals or other healthcare providers for referrals.
9. Using our website fairly
Please don’t: send false requests; try to see information that isn’t yours; copy or scrape our listings or content in bulk; interfere with the site’s security or bot checks; or use our service for anything illegal or harmful. We may suspend access for anyone who does.
10. Our content
The words, guides, checklists, design and logo on our website belong to us. You’re welcome to print or share our guides for your own family’s use or to help someone you know, with credit to us. Please don’t republish them or use our name or logo commercially without our written permission.
11. Other websites
We link to state agencies and other useful sites. We aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR WEBSITE AND SERVICE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS". WE DO OUR BEST TO KEEP INFORMATION ABOUT HOMES ACCURATE AND CURRENT, BUT HOMES PROVIDE MUCH OF IT, AND WE DON’T GUARANTEE THAT IT IS COMPLETE, CURRENT OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT OUR WEBSITE WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE.
13. Limit of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THE CARE, SERVICES, ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY HOME OR ITS STAFF, OR FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF OUR WEBSITE. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS ANY RIGHT YOU HAVE THAT THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE LIMITED, OR OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OR FRAUD.
14. Responsibility for business users
If you are a care home or referral partner, you agree to cover losses and reasonable legal costs we face because you broke these terms, your agreement with us, or the law. This section does not apply to families or residents.
15. Concerns about a home
Please tell us about any concern with a home we referred you to. You can also report it to California Community Care Licensing at 1-844-538-8766, or to the Long-Term Care Ombudsman CRISISline at 1-800-231-4024. If you suspect abuse or neglect, call Adult Protective Services or 911.
16. California law
California law governs these terms. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve any disagreement. Any court case will be heard in the state or federal courts for [COUNTY] County, California, unless the law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
17. Changes
We may update these terms. We will post the new version with a new effective date. Changes don’t apply to a request you already sent unless you agree.
